Digital Signal Processing (DSP)

Modern powered subwoofers and other audio components deploy advanced digital signal processing to improve sound quality and correct in-room anomalies. Sophisticated digital signal processors (DSPs), like those found in SVS Sledge subwoofer amplifiers, allow a user to optimize in-room performance of the subwoofer and achieve the best balance of accuracy, deep extension and optimal phase- and time-domain behavior. DSPs can also be helpful for seamless blending with loudspeakers in a 2-channel stereo or home theater surround sound system. A properly installed home theater subwoofer will effortlessly produce low frequency output for all the speakers without giving away its location or creating "boomy" spots (peaks) and bass dead zones (nulls) in a room.
