A single SVS subwoofer can absolutely deliver ample low frequency output to meet your needs, but there are advantages to running dual (or more) subwoofers. The most noticeable impact is evenly distributed bass throughout the listening area. A smoothing out of low frequency response to eliminate “Boomy” spots and areas where there’s a lack of bass.
